Version 1.8 fixes an extremely embarrasing bug. In the routines to handle
carrier loss and keyboard timeout, instead of doing direct WriteLn statements,
I used the pagelength handler print routines, which sometimes resulted in
the door hanging at "Press Any Key to Continue" after announcing hangup or
timeout. Please don't hold that one against me, Marc asks with a grin...

Version 1.7 is another minor bug fix, which deals only with the map. The
representation of a fleet in Livonia (r) had been shown 1 character high,
and an army in Denmark (L) was one character to the right. Both have been
fixed. Please delete the old ZIP (v1.6 or previous) from your BBS's file
section. Sorry for the inconveniance. This new version may be installed
directly over version 1.6/5 by simply PKUNZIPping it over top. For version
1.0, the files *.DAT must be deleted first.
**********
Version 1.6 is being released to fix two bugs spotted after the release of
version 1.5:
While in the data structures, Piedmont and Venice border on each other, they
did not in the map. The structures were correct, according to the actual
Diplomacy map; the Empire 1901 map has been redrawn to correct this. The only
changes to the map were in the region of Italy, and a small fix to make the
border between Portugal and Spain look cleaner. These changes were both
effectively cosmetic, and do not change the rules of the game at all.
If a player (or neutral empire) had its last supply center captured on a fall
turn, and the unit based from that center was in existance at the start of that
fall turn, the empire would not register as eliminated from the game until the
following Christmas Eve. This has been corrected; an empire should register
as eliminated as soon as its last center is captured (which of course would
happen on the fall turn).
A small fix was also made to file D of the docs, which discusses the game map.
WordPerfect had swallowed the character, used to symbolize fleets, and
replaced it with a space. The has been manually added back into the file.
Please forward any further error reports to the author. The address can be
found in the READ.ME file.
